Pride Month (June 2020)

We are proud allies of the LGBTQ+ community:

As a group, we accept people of all sexualities and genders. We are here to be the youth voice, and that includes LGBTQ+ young people’s voices too. We believe in sharing everyone’s voices and, in order to do that, we must be inclusive; this involves supporting our LGBTQ+ members and community members.

We hope that everyone feels comfortable and accepted at our events and meetings.

This pride month has unquestionably been different amidst the pandemic for one but it doesn’t mean we can’t still stand strong and stand proud together.

Now: do you know what LGBTQ+ stands for? Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer. If you are unsure about what any of these means or want to learn more, check out these resources:

For more information about the LGBTQ+ community, please see @stonewalluk on Instagram or check out the Stonewall website

For help regarding your sexuality/gender try @brook_sexpositive on Instagram or the website where there are whole sections on advice about gender and sexuality

Here are some photos of the youth workers who help our youth councils and some of our members at Cumbria pride, representing youth council last year!
